Eurostar has today opened ticket sales for its direct ski trains, offering a relaxing and green alternative to lugging skis on flights this coming winter season.

The high speed trains will go from St Pancras or Ashford International direct to the towns of Moutiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Bourg St Maurice. From these stations there is just a short bus ride straight to popular ski resorts such as Courchevel, La Plagne, Tignes, Meribel, Les Arcs and many many more. And to make it even simpler, Eurostar allows passengers to carry on-board an extra luggage item, such as skis or a snowboard at no extra cost.

The direct ski trains will run from Saturday 17 December (day services) and Friday 23 December (night services) until Saturday 14th April 2012.

The overnight services arrive in the Alps early on a Saturday morning and depart late on a Saturday evening, ensuring you maximise time on the slopes. Alternatively, the Saturday day service allows passengers to take in breath-taking views of the French countryside on route to the resorts.

Return fares start from £149 return or passengers can opt for Standard Premier, enjoying more spacious seating and meals and drinks served at their seat from just £229 return.
