Eurostar adds additional services for August

Eurostar is providing 20 extra trains to and from Paris in AugustEurostar is providing 20 extra trains to and from Paris in AugustEurostar has announced that it is to put on extra trains to meet an increase in demand for its services over the summer.

The Cross Channel rail operator says that during August it will put on 20 extra trains - four each weekend - to and from Paris with every seat available from £69 return.

The extra trains that will run to and from Paris over the weekends in August are as follows:
           ·  Two extra trains on Fridays
           - London to Paris departing 13.31 arriving 16.47 
           - Paris to London departing 16.43 arriving 17.59 
           · Two extra trains on Sundays
           - London to Paris departing 13.31 arriving 16.47 
           - Paris to London departing 14.43 arriving 15.59

The extra trains are as follows:

Two extra trains on Fridays:

  • London to Paris departing 13.31 arriving 16.47
  • Paris to London departing 16.43 arriving 17.59 

Two extra trains on Sundays:

  • London to Paris departing 13.31 arriving 16.47
  • Paris to London departing 14.43 arriving 15.59

The announcement of these additional services comes shortly after Rail Europe announced it is offering discount on first class rail travel in France. The international rail travel agency is providing savings of up to 80% on first class rail travel to destinations throughout France that are available to book before 27 August

Fares from Paris to a range of popular French destinations now start at just £18 for a one way journey, such as between Paris and Reims. The Mediterranean ports of Nice and Marseille can be reached for only £28.50 one way on high speed TGV services from Paris.

The shortest journey times to Amsterdam, Cologne, Lyon and Marseille are as follows:

London to Amsterdam - 4 hours 16 minutes

London to Cologne - 4 hours 11 minutes

London to Lyon - 5 hours 4 minutes

London to Marseille - 6 hours 15 minutes.
