Now in its fifth year, the Crickhowell Walking Festival 25th Feb - 4th March has become one of the leading walking events in Wales.

The festival is one of the best ways to see the best of the Brecon Beacons National Park, meet new people and enjoy a day out surrounded by breathtaking mountains in the glorious countryside of this protected region of Wales.
The core of the festival is a range of guided walks in and around the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Some are for the experienced hill walker, but there are easier ones as well.
For people who would like to improve their confidence on the mountains there are workshops on map reading and navigation as well as opportunities to practice your skills under expert guidance in the open. With over 80 walks on offer, visitors are spoilt for choice.Brecon Beacons National Park. Photo: Brecon Beacon Tourism
A special feature of the Festival is the combination of an evening talk by an expert and a walk to further illustrate the subject the next day. For example, on Saturday 3 March, artist Pip Woolf will be talking about the Woollen Line – this is a really novel and eco-friendly way of combating erosion on the hills using an abundant local material, sheep’s wool. The following day there will be a walk to see it in place.
So, if you want to shake off those winter blues, get your boots cleaned up, find your waterproofs and book your walks and events online at Crickhowell Walking Festival.
