Here are some ideas to make the most of the cheap tickets:
Eurostar's Ski Train London to Bourg St Maurice
Eurostar's direct London to Bourg St Maurice service is by far the most effcient way to get to the slopes this year, leaving London after work means you can be on the slopes before lunch the following day. It is free to carry skis on board the train and booking a sleeper ticket means you get to stretch out and rest until arriving in the mountains ready for a day on the slopes. The service runs from 11th December.
For more info and booking see our Guide to Eurostar's Ski Train.
London to Strasbourg, from £99 return
Strasbourg is home to one of France’s longest established Christmas markets, with picturesque stalls selling local specialities, crafts, decorations and, of course, mulled wine.

London to Rodez
Rodez is the gateway to all the culture, gastronomy and adventure on offer in the Lot Valley. From here it is easy to get up into the Cantal for small, family-friendly ski resorts or off-piste snow treks through forests and highlands. The medieval town of Conques is an hours drive away, which is particularly magical in winter as carol services held in the impressive 12th Century cathedral float through the village's cobbled streets.

London to Geneva, from £115 return
From Geneva you can head to the Alpine towns of Switerland for festive feasting and markets or take your pick from a multitude of ski and activity holidays. La Source is a health and wellness chalet based in the historical village of Sameons. It offers a week all inclusive skiing and yoga break from as little as £590 per person and will pick you up from Geneva station if you arrive by train.
