Lucy Bruzzone

lucy bruzzone ski touringLucy has spent the last three years working at the Royal Geographical Society in its Expedition Advisory Centre, supporting field research, exploration and outdoor learning, where she gained an insight into the world of adventure travel and expeditions, undertaking several of her own along the way, including leading an expedition to Mexico and more recently spending three months in the Arctic Svalbard as a scientist on a youth development expedition.

After many years of learning how to do perfect turns on groomed pistes with her father, an Italian ski instructor, she spent an Erasmus year studying in Grenoble - the gateway to the Alpes - during her degree and learnt how to adventure away from the madding crowd. Since then she has worked as a rep and guide in the Italian Dolomites, ski toured in Norway and spent many hours pulling pulks on frozen sea ice in the Arctic. Lucy says she hopes to one day set up her own ski touring company and show others the joy of getting away from the ever-present lifts and enjoying skiing in a greener fashion...
