Details of Madrid and Barcelona by Train

Combine Spain's two largest cities in one holiday: take in Gaudi's surreal architecture in Barcelona or relax on the beach, then head for the great art galleries and buzzing tapas bars of Madrid.

Days 1-2 - London to Barcelona Travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, then transfer onto the overnight sleeper train to Barcelona (in Club Class).

Days 2-4 - Barcelona Check in at the Confortel Auditori Barcelona, a modern hotel with 108 contemporary rooms, outdoor swimming pool and solarium (open from June to September), and a fitness centre. Located in the quiet district of Ensanche Derecho, it's only a 10 minute walk from the Sagrada Familia and 500 metres from the Arc de Triomf metro station. Visit Barcelona's beaches, Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) and Gaudi's stunning Parc Guell gardens, Cathedral and architecture.

Days 4-6 - Madrid Take the high speed AVE train to Madrid (taking only 2 hours 35 minutes), where you'll be staying at the Rafaelhoteles Atocha, a contemporary style hotel with 245 rooms and suites. The hotel features the 'El Azafrán' restaurant and the lobby bar, along with an outdoor terrace in which you can enjoy the warm Madrid evenings. You're close to many of Madrid's cultural highlights - the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofía Art Centre, as well as the buzz of the bars and tapas joints of the city centre.

Days 6-7 - Madrid to London Take the night train (in Club Class) from Madrid, arriving the next morning in Paris. In Paris take the Eurostar on to London, Ebbsfleet or Ashford.

Holidays can be tailor-made for you to include different hotels, lengths of stay, departure dates and additional cities.
