Why is this a greener holiday?
To truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Hereford and from there, it’s a short taxi ride to the accommodation. Onsite the owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business. They have a new biomass boiler, which is run on apple tree prunings. The wood burning stoves in farmhouse, with fuel from their own managed forest. The cottage garden produces vegetables for breakfasts, with other ingredients bought from a nearby farm shop. They use organic cleaning products. There are boxes and food caddies for recycling and composting.
