Tawnylust Lodge
This is the perfect spot for a getaway holiday in an area full of green fields, mountains and lakes. Tawnylust Lodge and Nuala McNulty are wonderful - I could not have found a better introduction to North Leitrim. The large front window of the apartment looks down upon fields of sheep and cows and across to the mountains. The light and the clouds of the sky in the West are always changing - sip wine and enjoy the view! Nuala grew up in this area and knows the people and all the great stories. She and Tina Pommer also do guided walks full of information on flora/fauna and ancient sites.
There are good walks around Tawnylust Lodge and the town of Manorhamilton is friendly with many good pubs and shops. The Leitrim Sculpture Center is a rare find and well worth checking out.
The fresh air and the quiet ensure a good sleep with bird songs to accompany your breakfast. If you are looking for a retreat this is the place but there is plenty of good craic to be had, too! I highly recommend Tawnylust Lodge as you explore the beautiful North West.
