St Cuthbert’s House is a luxurious and unique place to stay, in the heart of the beautiful and historic Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is an historic, Grade II listed former Presbyterian church building, built in 1810.  We are situated in the quiet hamlet of North Sunderland adjacent to the popular village of Seahouses, on the Northumberland coast. We're in a very quiet area, yet just a short stroll from the busy harbour in Seahouses (where boats leave for the Farne Islands), and the stunning beaches and iconic castles of the Northumberland coast.  Walk the beach to Bamburgh Castle, or take a short drive to Holy Island, Alnwick Castle and Garden, or one of many other historic castles and houses nearby.  We can help you make the most of your time in this beautiful area.
We’ve renovated this historic former church, to create luxurious and beautifully designed accommodation for up to twelve people, in six double or twin rooms. It’s a beautiful and historic listed building, with its charm and history preserved - but the renovation has enabled us to incorporate some luxurious touches into the six ensuite bedrooms, and the beautiful, functional living spaces. The house is so much more than simply a place to stay…it’s a place to inspire and stir you, and to provide a memorable experience of hospitality. See our website to read something of the story of this beautiful building and its new lease of life, and look at our Guest Reviews, or our Tripadvisor listing, to see what other guests have found.
We have been awarded 5-Star Silver grading from VistBritain, and a Gold Award form the Green Tourism Business Scheme.  We were one of three finalists in the North-East Guest Accommodation of the year in 2009 and 2010.
You'll be spoilt for choice from our wonderful breakfast menu. They can all be enjoyed with a clear conscience too - we never fry anything - and we use the very best locally sourced food. We are a family business passionate about local, high-quality and beautifully presented food, and you will see that passion delivered on your plate.
We welcome well-behaved children over 12 years of age.St Cuthbert’s House is a luxurious and unique place to stay, in the heart of the beautiful and historic Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
