Salutation Hotel, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland

The Salutation Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic City of Perth. The Oldest established hotel in Scotland, the Salutation has been welcoming guests through it’s doors since 1699. One of the most famous patrons to sample our hospitality was Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed here in 1745, at the height of his struggle to regain the throne for the Stuart Kings.

Today, the welcome is as warm as it ever was. Part of the growing Strathmore Hotel Group, the Salutation offers traditional hospitality with all modern comforts. The hotel has 84 bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. In addition to our standard rooms, we offer superior rooms and a four poster bedroom, as well as our award winning special care “accessible” bedrooms. We offer a carvery dinner or bar meals where a selection of healthy living and locally sourced food is prepared. With over 34 items on our breakfast buffet the local jam and local honey is well worth trying. Our eggs also come from a local farm.

The hotel has storage facilities for cyclists and being only a few minutes walk from the bus and rail station we are ideal for a green holiday. Being in the Heart of Scotland there the situation is an ideal base to explore with excellent direct train routes to Dundee, Inverness, Edinburgh, Inverness, Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Aviemore, Stirling, Glasgow.... From a small celebration to a gala banquet, the Salutation is the ideal venue. Free use of the local gym to all guests with bed and breakfast and a trip to the Loch of the Lowes in Dunkeld can be arranged at a special rate, so please ask at reception.

The Moncrieffe Suite can accommodate up to 280 guests for a dinner and up to 220 guests for a dinner dance. It has a welcoming reception area, which also boasts a well-stocked private function bar. All the latest in AV, Induction Loop, Ramp, Data Projection, PA System The Murray Room is ideal for a private meal for up to 50 guests or our Adam Room will comfortably hold 48 guests. From a set menu to a multiple course banquet, these can be tailored to your exact requirements and taste, our Head Chef uses the finest local produce and fare to create dishes or outstanding flavour and quality. We can cater for all dietary requirements and we offer an interesting range of vegetarian, vegan and healthy eating options. To compliment fine food, our extensive wine list is available, offering both traditional and new world wines which are attractively priced. During a meal, a table service for wine and drinks will be offered as standard. In addition to dinner menus, we offer, for that more informal touch, a vast array of buffet options.
