Rezare Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast offers comfortable, characterful, peaceful accommodation with an emphasis on good food and sustainability. Dogs are welcome.

Situated in a quiet hamlet within the Tamar Valley on the Cornwall / Devon border, midway between Bodmin moor and Dartmoor and both coasts, you will be perfectly placed to explore the region's many and varied attractions.

All rooms are generously sized, retain many orginal features throughout, contain touches of luxury in the important areas, and are furnished to a high standard with very comfortable beds and practical antiques. Our beds have simple, sturdy wooden frames with high quality individually pocket sprung mattresses, bed linen is 100% Egyptian cotton, blankets are beautifully soft pure virgin wool, and we offer both goose feather and down, and non-allergenic pillows. Each bed also features one of Nanette's hand-made quilts. All rooms have ensuite facilities which comprise either a shower or bath ( or both, in the single room ), with handmade soaps, a selection of high quality toiletries, and large cotton towels.

Breakfast features delicious butcher's-own sausages, home-cured bacon and puddings. Pure apple juice is produced from fruit grown within a three mile radius of the house, eggs come from our own chickens, we bake fresh bread daily, make our own yoghurt and granola, and have a range of home-made preserves. As well as the traditional full English breakfast we offer alternatives such as locally smoked kippers, excellent Cornish salami and cheese, and omelette Arnold Bennett.

Three-course meals are available most nights, freshly prepared by Nanette, who spent 20 years cooking professionally. The menus, which change daily, make full use of the fact that we have many excellent producers and suppliers of meat, fish, vegetables and cheeses locally. We use seasonal produce whenever possible and use ingredients that speak for themselves; this means that the simple, well-balanced meals have no need for over-elaboration. All special dietary requirements are catered for, and if you have any particular likes or dislikes, we will be happy to take them into consideration. We are licensed, and stock a range of award-winning, locally produced wines, beers and ciders.

Guests have access to our free wifi network thoughout the house.

Our aim is that you should feel comfortable and well-looked-after, in relaxed, informal surroundings, and look forward to welcoming you to our home.

"I loved the farmhouse’s homely atmosphere, and the fact that guests all dine together at 7pm. The quality of Nanette’s cooking also far exceeds what you might expect at a B&B."

How does Rezare Farmhouse minimise its impact on the environment and contribute to a sense of place?

Rezare has been awarded Gold by the GTBS, monitoring energy consumption on a weekly basis with all A rated appliances, mostly energy saving light fittings and extremely thick roof insulation to prevent heat loss. An AIMS system has recently been fitted to the gas AGA, which allows the appliance to be timed on and off, at different temperatures, during the day, instead of running permanently on full burn. All electricity is sourced from Ecotricity, and were selected as one of their first 500 customers to trial their new gas product, which will supply gas to the grid from anaerobic digestor plants.

Waste is separated into recyclable materials, with green waste being recycled. The toiletries and soaps are also environmentally friendly, while the older cisterns have been fitted with water savers. Rainwater is collected in butts to feed the garden. Organic and local produce is of great importance, with much veg and fruit grown on site, and a range of Cornish and Devonian wines beers and ciders available. The owners have also begun turning their own and neighbours' apples into juice. The accommodation benefits from a good location in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to the Cornish mining landscape, now a World Heritage Site.
