Why we've chosen Oriel Milgi
A contemporary-styled, dog friendly B & B, Oriel Milgi is only 40 minutes walk to the beautiful Blue Flag beach at Poppit Sands and the busy market town of Cardigan.
There is a choice of three en-suite bedrooms and the use of a large lounge/dining area; with two rooms available for well-behaved dogs. Locally-sourced breakfasts with vegetarian and vegan options are servded.
Whether you wish to relax and take it easy, or are up for something more active, there is plenty to do here. You can swim, surf or kayak at Poppit Sands, walk, climb or coasteer the coastal path, walk in the Preseli mountains or along the many paths in the beautiful surrounding countryside. For something more relaxing you can browse the independent shops, followed by a lovely meal in the local cafes or restaurants.
The house's name "Telynfa" means 'music' or 'harp' house in Welsh. The earliest deeds for the house (1846) show it was originally a sea captain's house, but some of the foundations have been dated to medieval times. The house is full of character, with an original concentric Georgian staircase, taking you from the original low-ceiling, Welsh slate-floored cottage-style rooms on the ground floor, to the later Victorian-addition bedrooms on the first floor and servants-quarters in the loft space.
Review by Rhiannon Batten
"The north Pembrokeshire/ south Ceredigion area is really beginning to stake its place on the tourist map. If you want to explore the best of the local scenery, sights and flavours from a comfortable, contemporary base, Oriel Milgi is just the place."
