The Old Vicarage Dolfor sits in the Montgomeryshire hills above Newtown in the County of Powys, Mid Wales, close to the Shropshire border. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, an ideal stopover for travellers heading North, South and to the Welsh coast and for those who want to relax and unwind and explore the magic of the region. Everyone knows of the Brecon and Snowdonia National Parks but Mid Wales' Cambrian Mountains are arguably an even more beautiful unspoilt wilderness. An area of lakes, forests, mountains, myths and legends, rich in historic castles (Powis castle being the most famous), highlighting the area’s history of conflict, defending against Roman, Saxon, Norman and English invaders.
There are stunning panoramic views from the Old Vicarage which stretch for miles. There are cosy log fires with menus utilising the brilliant local, organic, seasonal produce. A vegetable garden with polytunnel supplies salads, herbs and vegetables with free-range hens contributing their lovely golden yoked eggs, so crucial for that extra special breakfast.
The Old Vicarage Dolfor makes an excellent choice for a cycling or walking holiday and there are some terrific special deals available.
