The New Room at Mandinam, Carmarthenshire, Wales

Part of the lovely Mandinam working farm, with its superb views across the Towy Valley and rolling West Wales countryside, the New room is part of a separate building in the courtyard and was probably originally the cookhouse or "cegin". It has recently been converted with all modern comforts but still retains an historic character. Quiet and spacious, it offers a gallery, uxurious bathroom with bath and shower, plus underfloor heating. Enjoy a restful night's sleep in a wonderful four poster bed made by a local craftsman and you can just wander across the atmospheric courtyard to the farmhouse for a huge, fresh and delicious breakfast.

Mandinam has its own flock of sheep and practices sustainable farming, and sells beef, lamb and mutton from the farm's own livestock. Its located in the midst of West Wales' celebrated scenery, close to the Brecon Beacons and perfect for a sense of escape, fresh air and walks through soul-lifting landscapes.

Why is this a greener holiday? 

To truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Llangadog, and the owners are happy to collect guests from the station. Onsite the owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business. Additionally, the farm is maintained sustainably and the owners value conservation.
