Why we've chosen Murrayshall House Hotel:

Say "goodbye" to the maddening crowd and bid "adios" to the hustle and bustle of modern day life. Here, surrounded by acre upon acre of woodland and countryside, you can plop the outside world on the back burner.

Murrayshall House has stood in its beautiful 350-acre Perthshire estate for over 300 years. The wild roe deer, red squirrel and hares roam the grounds, and falcons and owls hover in the skies above as they always have done. Handed down through a succession of aristocratic and high profile owners since it was first built in 1664 (including Lords, Viscounts and leading businessmen) the house is as stylish, secluded and romantic as it's always been.

We haven't forgotten life’s simple pleasures at the Murrayshall House Hotel. Still privately owned and run, we’ve succeeded in capturing the essence of this unique history to create a world of our own. A special place where great service combines with fun, relaxation and fine food. A hotel where you can play golf, enjoy a romantic weekend, hold a productive conference or celebrate your marriage in style. As all the former owners appreciated the history behind its impressive architecture and scenic estate, we also feel that Murrayshall is a genuinely unique place to spend some time. We would like to invite you to come stay and play.

Review by Lucy Gilmore

"If you want a relaxed and friendly country house hotel with a gourmet restaurant with surprisingly reasonable prices check in here. It’s not just dog-friendly it’s totally chilled out about dogs. Some places claim to be pet-friendly but put all sort of caveats on pets staying: dogs are not allowed alone in the room and you have to sign all sorts of disclaimers. It also feels like you’re in the middle of the countryside but you’re just a short drive from Perth, its transport links and attractions. And if you’re a golfer, of course, you’re all set."
