To truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Windermere. From there the accommodation is approximately 9 miles away and can be reached by taxi, or bus number 555. Onsite the owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business. There have installed a high efficiency combined heat and power boiler for heating and hot water. The property has been refurbished using as many natural products as possible, including natural organic clay paints. There is a water filtration system installed to remove chlorine and pesticides from the water. Organic toiletries are provided and laundry uses biodegradable detergents. The food served is organic.
