Millbrook Cottages offer 4 luxury properties on a 32 acre estate in North Devon. The cottages are all finished to a high standard and have the 5 star gold award from Visit Britain. The accommodation offers different sleeping arrangements with 3 properties sleeps 2 adults and one sleeping 3 in 2 bedrooms. We can provide a cot and high chair free of charge.

The accommodation offers LCD TV, DVD, Teac Hifis with Ipod docks, Laura Ashley Furnishings, Free Wifi, full granite topped kitchens, stone bathrooms (some with Jacuzzis). Guests have free use of our hot tub in the woods. 2 of our properties welcome dogs. On site at Millbrook we have 2 fishing lakes and lots of animals including Alpacas, Chickens and Turkeys.

How does Millbrook Cottages minimise its impact on the environment and contribute to a sense of place?

Having been awarded Gold by the GTBS, Millbrook has a comprehensive list of energy-saving features including a 5kw wind turbine, 1kw water turbine, 2km of photovoltaic and solar panels, plus a biomass boiler. Also, all of the offices and one property has air to air heat pump heating. The buildings are also extremely well insulated, and all of the appliances are atleast A-rated. All of the lighting is either LED or energy-saving, including the outside spot lights. All of the taps are fitted with flow restrictors, and all toilets are dual flush. Rainwater is collected and then used to feed the greenhouse and plants.The cottages use M&A environmental for the cleaning products that are based in Exeter.

Guests are able to recycle paper, cardboard, juice cartons, all plastic packaging, glass, tin, bottle tops as well as being able to deposit food waste in compost bins. All food and welcome hamper ingredients are sourced locally, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free otions. Guests can even have local strawberries and cream on arrival (in season), plus there's locally-made chocolates, jam, cookies, cakes and juices. Arrive by train and you'll not only get picked up at the station, you'll also get a 10% discount. The owners have cultivated the 32 acre grounds with utmost care for the environment, which includes four lakes, wild garlic woods, bluebell woods and over 40,000 daffodils.

Directions from station:
We will collect guests from the local train station if required and offer a 15% discount for guests arriving for short breaks by train. From the train station turn left over the bridge. Turn right and take the turning 1/2 mile ahead sign posted Torrington. Follow up the hill to Atherington and take the turning immediately after the post office to High Bickington. Once in High Bickington take the first road on the right called Barton Meadow Road and follow out of village 1/2 mile to Millbrook
