How does Long Valley Yurts minimise its impact on the environment and contribute to a sense of place?

The Yurts are completely 'off grid'. They have attached a solar lighting system to each of the Yurts which provide all the lighting requirements and gas is provided in the form of propane cylinders for cooking. Heat is provided by wood burning stoves. All wood is sourced locally and from a sustainable source. The Yurts have no other energy requirements. Each of the Yurts are situated upon existing campsites.  Part of the property selection process for Long Valley Yurts was the availability of recycling facilities. They promote and encourage guests to use these through the guest welcome pack booklet supplied inside each Yurt. Guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport to minimise their impact on the Peak District’s natural environment and biodiversity.
