Why we've chosen The House in the Hills

You feel like you're a world away from anywhere but you're just ten miles from lovely Hay-on-Wye with its antique and book shops. The lane wends its way past fields of Highland cattle and sheep and there, tucked into the folds of the verdant  valley with the soaring Black Mountains beyond is this impeccably converted barn for 6, with chic country cottage interiors (farmhouse kitchen with aga, open fire and leather sofas in the red sitting room, roll top in the bathroom); across the terrace (with hot tub) is a self-contained annex for 4. True escapism.
