Why we've chosen Hotel Restaurante La Fragua

For epic mountain views, the place to head is Trevélez, highest village in Las Alpujarras, perched on the slopes of Mulhacén – at 3,479m, the loftiest peak on the Iberian peninsula. La Fragua comprises two properties: the cosy, rustic Hotel La Fragua I in the heart of the village, and the more modern, larger Hotel La Fragua II, with swimming pool and alongside a restaurant serving typical local dishes (be sure to try the jamón serrano – air-dried ham, for which the village is famed). Both hotels have comfy lounge areas with log fires for chilly evenings.

Nearest train station: Granada bus station

Directions from station:
Buses depart from Madrid to Granada every hour (trains are more expensive and take about the same amount of time). From Granada, take the bus heading to Alcutar which stops at Trévelez, about 15 minutes' walk from the hotel. La Fragua I and La Fragua II are close together.
