Why we've chosen Gwel an Mor

What a little cracker! This fabulous eco friendly place does eveerything you could possibly want for a family beach side holiday. Purpose built chalets and Residence eco-lodges are carefully dotted across the hillside at Portreath overlooking the sea. Everywhere you go you will find manicured lawns and flowerbeds, beautiful landcsaping and carefully tended paths, with happy staff wandering about greeting you.

A central area has a full-service spa and indoor pool, a restauarant and bar and the meeting poit for tours and events. There is also a wild life centre where a full time conservationist is available for wild life experiences where you can feed rescued foxes and fly owls and other birds.

The beach is a lovely wooded path away and perfectly accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Bike hire on site, tennis court and soft play area means there's something for everyone and if you can tear yourself away from the private hot tub on the decking, there's no reason to leave this well thought out and fabulously maintained spot. You can even get married here.

Review by Lucy Symons "Self-catering is always a bit of a punt – you are never sure you have booked a gem or a stinker until you arrive. As closely as you may look at the website, you can never truly tell until you walk through the door and get a sense of the attention to detail. This, and a heartfelt and generous approach are immediately evident and you really won’t be disappointed here – as nice as the ponsiest five star hotel I have stayed in, the staff are just delightful, I believed they cared that we had a lovely stay and as a consequence we really did."
