Gwaenynog is a gorgeous stone farmhouse in a peaceful and quiet area, located between Lake Vyrnwy and Welshpool.
We’re ideally located for visiting Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Llanfair Light Railway, Pistyll Rhaeadr, Snowdonia or the beaches at Cardigan Bay; or you can head east into Shropshire and visit where the industrial revolution started at Ironbridge, go visit a Victorian farm or go to Darwin’s birthplace, Shrewsbury – to name just a few destinations which can be easily reached from us. Past guests have even visited the North Wales coast and Anglesey on day trips...
There’s a spacious guest lounge with beams and an open inglenook fireplace, where we have a large TV with Freeview and DVD, where you can unwind and take in the views. Our grounds are pasture, woods or marshland, offering sanctuary to a multitude of wildlife, including many birds – some of them rare.
Our rooms are: super king-size (which splits into a twin bedded rooms), a standard double and a lovely 4 poster (which is also a family room with 2 x 2’6” beds) or our 4’ single bedroom - all with en-suites, and include flatscreen TV with Freeview and DVD, a choice of beverages, luxurious showers and very comfortable beds. Each room is unique with its name taken from the local bird life – Peregrine, Heron, Owl or Woodpecker; all of which can been seen from the rooms (if they’re co-operating!).
We offer evening meals by arrangement, or there are some fantastic places to dine in our local area; all within 30 minutes drive.
