Have a greener holiday at Greenstones Yurts:

The Greenstones Yurts are nestled behind an old farm on the lush island of Flatön, Bohuslän, Sweden. The Bohuslän archipelago is, according to CNN, ‘one of the world’s 10 last great wilderness areas’.

The yurts are surrounded by oaks, birches and Scots pine and are completely private. A stay in our yurts is a wonderful way to re-connect with nature and take a break from the rush of ordinary life. It’s truly a ‘Glamping’ (Glamorous Camping) holiday experience.

Our insulated top-of-the-range yurts provide luxurious accommodation for 2 (the small yurt) or 4 (the big yurts). Complete cooking facilities including hot and cold water are in all the yurts and shower / bathroom facilities are close by.

The Greenstones Nature Spa facilities are available to our yurt guests. We have a 35℃ heated Watsu pool as well as a wood-fired sauna, hot tub and solar heated swimming pool.

Top eco features at Greenstones Yurts:

  • The heat from the biomass boiler is used for space and underfloor heating, hot water and to heat our hydro-therapy pool.

  • We source our wood fuel from our own land and that of our immediate neighbours

  • 100% of our electricity is generated from the wind and is bought from a ‘green’ supplier

  • We have an ecological grey water cleaning system.

  • We have our own water supply from two wells.

  • During the summer we produce almost all of our green vegetables ourselves from our organic kitchen garden

  • We produce our own honey and contribute to a healthy environment with 4 bee hives. We are the only beekeepers on the island.

  • We’ve planted dozens of fruit trees and bushes
