Have a greener holiday at Casa Olea:
Casa Olea is close (1 hours drive) to the magnificent Andalucian cities of Cordoba and Granada with their rich history and beautiful architecture, including the Mezquita and Alhambra. It's the perfect base from which to discover the “real Andalucia” with olive groves, Sierras Subbeticas mountains, white villages, medieval hill-top castles, local gastronomy and traditional local fiestas. The property has a peaceful natural setting, with river forest full of wildlife including wild boar, turtles, owls, buzzards, eagles, griffon vultures and bee-eaters in summer.
Boutique B&B or Luxury Villa
Casa Olea is a traditional Andalucian cortijo (farm-house) with cobble-stone and tiled floors, wrought-iron balconies etc., set in a stunning 5-acre olive grove with river woodland, outside terraces, gardens, swimming pool with shady pergola, comfy chairs and hammocks to laze in. It boasts 6 bedrooms with super-king sized beds, Egyptian cotton bedding/duvets, luxury bathrooms, amazing views from every window, and is very cosy in winter with under-floor heating throughout and a log fire in the lounge. Home-cooked evening meals with Spanish/International dishes are offered, as well as a fully stocked bar - and there are outside terraces with great views. You also have the option to rent the house on an exclusive use basis as a “luxury villa,” with catering provided or on a self-catering basis.
Activities and Excursions
Self-guide walking maps and routes for biking/cycling are provided. There is also easy access to the Via Verde, the reclaimed “Ruta del Aceite” railway line, for walking and biking, and mountain bikes are available for rent. In harvest season (December - February), there are local olive-themed activities in the harvest season, from olive oil tasting to tours of a local olive mill. Lots of personal recommendations for day trips to Granada, Córdoba, Jaén and visits in the local area (Priego de Córdoba, white villages like Zuheros and Almedinilla) - where to park, what to see, where to eat etc.
The owners, Tim and Claire, worked in hotels and travel for a combined total of over 20 years, so they really understand the importance of personalized service. They share a genuine desire to help all guests really get to know the surrounding area and explore the region as a whole. Lots of recommendations of local activities and places to eat which they’ve personally “recced”.
