Why we've chosen Trericket Mill, Brecon Beacons, Wales

Why is this a greener holiday?

To truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Builth Road.  The 704 bus service between Brecon and Newtown (via Builth Wells) runs every 2 hours during the daytime, Monday to Saturday (except Bank Holidays) and will pick up and drop off at Trericket Mill on request. If arriving by foot or pedal power, Trericket Mill has easy access on to Lôn Las Cymru (Sustrans' National Cycle Route 8), and the Wye Valley Walk passes by the door.

Onsite the owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business. The heaters and lights switched off in unoccupied rooms. They also use eco laundry and drier balls to reduce energy. The owners recycle and buy recycled products as much as possible. All food waste is composted or fed to the ducks and hens.

Review of the River Cabin by Paul Miles

"A perfect little snug of a place for a couple or small family that doesn’t mind sleeping in one room but not for those too sensitive to traffic noise."
